Use this guide to set up your Agency email, calendar, and contacts on your iOS device using the official Google apps and native contact syncing.

Prerequisites

  • Your active Agency email address and password.

  • An internet connection.

  • Your Apple ID password (to download apps).

Step 1: Set up Email (Gmail App)

  1. Open the App Store and download Gmail - Email by Google.

  2. Open Gmail.

  3. Tap Sign In.

  4. Select Google from the Add account menu.

  5. Tap Continue on the permission pop-up.

  6. Enter your Agency email address and tap Next.

  7. Enter your password and tap Next.

  8. Tap Allow to enable notifications.

Step 2: Set up Calendar (Google Calendar App)

  1. Open the App Store and download Google Calendar: Get Organized.

  2. Open Google Calendar.

  3. Tap Sign In.

  4. Toggle the switch next to your Agency email address to the ON position.

Note: Since you signed into the Gmail app in Step 1, your account should appear automatically.

  5. Tap Get Started.

  6. Tap Allow to enable notifications for meeting reminders.

Step 3: Sync Contacts (Device Settings)

This step syncs your Google contacts to your iPhone's native Phone and Messages apps without duplicating your email and calendar notifications.

  1. Open your device Settings.

  2. Go to Contacts > Accounts.

  3. Tap Add Account.

  4. Select Google and tap Continue.

  5. Enter your Agency email address and password again to authenticate.

  6. Tap Allow.

  7. Important: Configure the sync switches as follows:

    • Contacts: Toggle ON.

    • Mail: Toggle OFF.

    • Calendars: Toggle OFF.

  8. Tap Save.

Troubleshooting

  • "Cannot Verify Server Identity" error: Ensure you selected Google as the account type in Step 3, not "Exchange" or "Other."

  • Duplicate Notifications: If you receive two alerts for every email or meeting, check Step 3 again and ensure Mail and Calendars are toggled OFF in the iOS Settings.

  • Contacts not appearing: Open the Phone app, tap Contacts, tap Lists (or Groups) in the top left, and ensure your Agency account is checked.
